Gong workshop with Sanjay Hallon

This workshop from Nada Yoga School & TheEternalsound, the energy as transmitted through gongs and other sacred instruments will bring a positive change in you, your family, environment, community, and nation for world peace.

Through the program on Eternal sound, Gong and sound sanctuary, we will attempt to understand the nature of eternal sound and channelize this transcendent energy into a positive, serene and relaxed environment and state of being. As it is suggested in physics and metaphysics, the energy can neither be created nor destroyed except that it changes its form. Using different instruments, voice and chanting, an envelope of sound and vibrations bring about a positive change to the listener for relaxation, meditation and healing.

A rigour and a relationship is developed between you and the mentor/Acharya through constant and regular collaboration for deep understanding, meaning, practice and spread of eternal sound, till you are ready for the role of a student teacher and feel ready to teach others one’s own learnings.

The program is mainly taught and lead by Sanjay Hallon (spiritual name Shankara Swami Karma Yashe) who travels far and wide spreading the goodness of the gongs, sound healing and other sacred instruments and nada yoga.

The Eternal Sound

The sound is the first manifestation of the Absolute. We know nothing about the nature of the Absolute as it exists, except that it is. The day Brahman was one and non-dual that caused a vibration eventually bringing in sound. Supercharged with transcendent soul force, sound is in all creations the one powerful principle that widely influences and effectively brings under control all other manifestations. Brahman or universe is incomprehensible in its transcendent aspect – the nearest approach to it is only by sound or we can call sound as aparam brahama or highest level of the universe.

Sound healing has been practiced for centuries but did loose some of its sheen during the rise of modern medicine. However, awareness of its healing nature is once again being noticed and embraced. The sound is now considered as the medicine for future, as it always was. This not only has origins in many civilizations, their teachings and philosophy but also has roots in Nada yoga.

Eternal Sound Bath/Gong Bath

Gong and sound healing workshop“If you have yet to experience the Magic of a Sound and Gong Bath – you are in for a very special festive treat!” Aiden McIntyre, a highly accomplished gong player and gong master….

Bathing us in waves of beautiful and timeless vibrations, the Eternal Sound Bath has been likened to a mini-vacation. It is a waterless bath and where gongs take the lead and often supported by native American flutes, Tibetan/Himalayan singing bowls, tuning forks, African drums, Burma and temple bells. The piano, violin, shruti box or even guitars, voice and chanting can be added.

This produces a whole spectrum of harmonics with a sound envelope and texture that is nonlinear and trans-spatial that transports the listener to another level of being, integrate one’s intention and brings balance into body, mind, and spirit. This promotes a positive change to listener where healing occurs naturally and the stresses of everyday life are gently washed away.

Indeed gongs have been used as an instrument in many kinds of world music with a mysterious and archaic history around the planet. However, it seems to reflect each culture it is found in and combined with sacred sounds from different cultures, it’s most profound use lies within its singular ability to transform and elevate the listener.

Accordingly based on individual perception, Eternal Sound and Gong bath could be a musical experience, or an opportunity for relaxation or a more profound experience of meditation, therapy and self-healing.

As Don Conreaux the Grand Gong Master suggests,

a gong bath could lead to:

1. Liberating self from negative emotions
2. Expanding the sense of self in social bonding
3. Inspiring the self with creative consciousness
4. Feeling wholeness and fullness of self

As Yogi Bhajan once said, no mind can resist a well-played gong…..
